VisualArtsHeightened surveillance, characterized by the spread of public cameras, luggage searches, Internet monitoring and wiretapping, has become an inescapable global condition. The New Normal brings together thirteen recent artworks that use private information as raw material and subject matter.

Join DiverseWorks at Culture Collision. One stop shopping for young professionals arts groups in Houston at the beautiful Bayou Bend gardens.  Check out what Houston arts scene has to offer at this happy hour where culture and cocktails collide.  Make sure to stop by the DiverseWorks table and enter our contest "Now that I'm by Myself... I'm in a Video by Myself Contest" inspired by our current exhibition"Now that I'm by myself," she says, "I'm not by myself, which is good."  We will have FLIP video cameras at our table and you have the chance to use them to create your video and enter the contest. Please note this contest will be held exclusively at Culture Collision and the winner will receive a gift certificate to Correlli's and a DiverseWorks goodie bag. The winner will be announced on October 22nd through the DiverseWorks website and email. The DiverseWorks staff has created a few samples to inspire your entries! Check them out here…
