Intern Christian Baer and Volunteer Knox Rocke
WE WANT TO ROCK YOUR WORLD!
BECOME A DIVERSEWORKS INTERN!!
Internships at DiverseWorks offer
participants the dirty nitty gritty hands-on training of the non-profit
world. Interns will work closely with
staff and artists in residence at DiverseWorks.
Install art work, work on independent projects and get a backstage VIP
pass to contemporary art exhibitions and performances. The experience and opportunity for a DiverseWorks
intern is almost as good as working at DiverseWorks.
Administration
Interns would work with various staff members of administrative fundraising,
public relations and an overview of programming. Tasks would include clerical work, research
and some special projects as they arise.
Directors Office
The Co-Directors
manage the work of all of the organization’s departments and make all
curatorial decisions related to DiverseWorks’s Visual and Performing arts
programs. Interns will be involved in
all areas of operation and will be able to gain an understanding of how a contemporary
art space is run. In addition, interns will work with curators on research and
organization of upcoming exhibitions including development of timelines,
checklists and signage; correspondence with artists, curators, galleries and
museums; travel and shipping arrangements; gallery/theater preparation and
installation.
Development/
Special Events
DiverseWorks
hosts an annual gala and many special events that help raise funds for
DiverseWorks programming and operations.
Interns would help plan and organize events.
Marketing/
Public Relations
DiverseWorks
seeks a marketing and public relations intern to assist in all aspects of press
and marketing including archiving press clippings, creating press kits,
distribution of publicity materials, marketing research, managing the image
inventory, updating the website, graphic design, mailings and filings.
Candidate must posess strong communication, writing and computer skills (Word, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign) and must
be detail-oriented and very organized.
Technical
Theater
DiverseWorks
runs a 100 seat black-box theater that hosts most of our performing
programs. Opportunities for a technical
assistant include: assisting in hanging
and focusing lights, set construction, and being a stagehand for productions.
